As per the report of the Technical Group by the National Commission, the population of Chhattisgarh is projected to be 30,638,000, or 30.64 million, or 3.06 crore, as of July 1, 2024. Chhattisgarh is the 18th most populous state in India. Chhattisgarh’s population is projected to reach 3.42 crore in 2036.
The size of the population of Chhattisgarh is equivalent to that of Madagascar, the 50th most populous country in the world.
In 2024, the sex ratio of the total population in Chhattisgarh will be 100.602 males per 100 females. There are 15,365,000, or 15.37 million, or 1.54 crore, males and 15,273,000, or 15.27 million, or 1.53 crore, females in Chhattisgarh. Chhattisgarh has 92,000, or 92k, more males than females.
Chhattisgarh accounts for 2.18 percent of the Indian population, the highest since 1901. The population growth rate in 2024 is projected at 1.14%, the 6th highest among states. Chhattisgarh will add 344,000 more people in 2024.
