Projected GDP Ranking

As of 2021, the United States and China would occupy the first two places in both methods' gdp ranking. The US and China's margin is coming down in nominal ranking as China's gdp growth rate of 2021 (8.44%) is higher than the US's 6.39%. On a nominal basis, the US is ahead of China by $6 trillion in 2021 compared to $6.2 trillion in 2020. On a ppp basis, China has overtaken the US in 2017 and ahead by Int. $4 trillion, and the gap is increasing. China will remain the world's largest economy on a ppp basis over the next few decades as 2nd ranked US is growing slow and 3rd ranked India is way behind.

In the nominal gdp list, There would be no change in the top 10. Other changes in the top 20 would be Australia overtaking Brazil, Saudi Arabia overtaking Turkey in the top 20 list. Among the top 50, the Economic rank of Malaysia and Chile would move up by three positions, while Hong Kong, Pakistan, Vietnam, and Colombia would lose two places.

In the ppp ranking, There would be no change in the top 10 list. Other changes in the top 20 would be Italy overtaking Mexico. Among the top 50, Only eight economies will experience a change in ranking; Vietnam will climb two spots, and Pakistan will decline by two positions.

In the list of top 50, All economies will experience a positive growth rate in 2020. India is the fastest-growing economy with 12.55%, followed by China (8.44%) in nominal and Peru (8.5%) in ppp terms. Pakistan has the lowest growth rate of 1.5%, followed by Finland (2.28%) and Egypt (2.47%).

United States (1,5) is present in both lists of the top ten GDP and GDP per capita ranking at nominal terms. Germany (4,16), Canada (9,19), Australia (13,9), Netherlands (17,13), and Switzerland (18,2) are in the top twenty list of GDP and GDP per capita ranking. In PPP, United States (2,8) is present in the top ten, whereas Germany (5,18), Australia (18,20), and Taiwan (19,15) are in the top twenty of both rankings.
