As per the report of the Technical Group by the National Commission, the population of Lakshadweep is projected to be 69,000, or 69k, as of July 1, 2024. Lakshadweep is the least populous UT in India and is in last position among 36 states and UTs. Lakshadweep’s population is projected to reach 72k in 2036.
The size of the population of Lakshadweep is equivalent to that of the Cayman Islands, which rank 206th in the world.
In 2024, the sex ratio of the total population in Lakshadweep will be 102.941 males per 100 females. There are 35,000, or 35k, males and 34,000, or 34k, females in Lakshadweep. Lakshadweep has 1,000 more males than females.
