GDP of South Korea

According to the IMF World Economic Outlook (October 2025), South Korea's nominal GDP in 2025 is projected to be around $1,859 billion, $17 billion more than the $1,875 billion in 2024. South Korea's figure was highest at $1,942 billion in 2021; now it has lost almost $84 billion till 2025. South Korea contributes 1.59% of the entire world's GDP. South Korea's share of the world economy was maximum in 2006 (2.11%) and minimum in 1965 (0.16%).

South Korea attained the highest rank of 9th in 2020 and the lowest of 43rd in 1961. Since 2020, these five countries have moved ahead, leaving South Korea in the current 14th spot: Canada (2021), Brazil (2022), Russia (2022), Mexico (2025), and Spain (2025).
