List of Oceanian countries by population

Australia is the most populous in Oceania. Australia and Papua New Guinea are the only Oceanian country with a total number of humans above ten million. New Zealand is the remaining one with a total number of humans above one million. The top three countries together hold a huge 92% share of the Oceania population. The least populous country in Oceania is Tuvalu. Niue is the least populous region in Oceania.

Most of the Oceanian countries/territories have a very low population as none of the countries are on the list of the world's top 50 world population rankings and only two in the top 100.

Out of 23 countries/territories, the population of 15 would increase, and eight countries would decrease in 2024. Australia's population would increase by 264k, followed by Papua New Guinea (187k). Marshall Islands would be top decliners followed by Northern Mariana Islands and American Samoa.

Tokelau would have the highest population growth rate of 4.36%, followed by Solomon Islands (2.39%). Five countries have a growth rate above 1%. Three countries are on the list of the world's top 50 fastest-growing nations. Cook Islands would have the lowest population growth rate of -3.41%.

In 1950, Nauru was the least populous country in Oceania. By 2100, Palau will become the least populous country.
