Top 10 largest economies by GDP

The United States of America is the most populous country in North America, followed by Mexico. These two countries have a total number of humans above 100 million. These two countries are home to 77.6% of the huge North American population. Including these two and Canada and Guatemala, the top four make up over 87%.

Most North American countries/regions have a low population, as only eight countries have a population above 10 million, and 26 countries/dependent territories have a population below one million. 28 smallest countries/territories only contribute 1% of the North America population. The least populous country in North America is Saint Kitts and Nevis. Montserrat is the least populous region in North America.

Two North American countries are in the list of the top 20 most populous countries globally, as it hosts the United States of America and Mexico, the world's 3rd and 11th most populous countries. The other North American country in the top 50 world population ranking is Canada.

Out of 41 countries/territories, the population of 27 would increase, and 14 countries would decrease in 2025. The United States's population would increase by 1.8 million, followed by Mexico (1.1 million). Cuba (-44k) is the top decliner.

Caribbean Netherlands (Bonaire, Sint Eustatius, and Saba) would have the highest population growth rate of 1.99% in 2025. Ten countries/regions in North America have a growth rate above 1%. Only the Caribbean Netherlands is on the list of the world's top 50 fastest-growing nations. Saint Martin (French part) would have the lowest population growth rate of -4.38%, the lowest in the world.

The ranking of the top four countries will remain the same until 2100. By 2050, Honduras will replace Haiti in the 5th spot. Cuba was at the 4th spot in 1950, and it will move down to the 10th spot in 2100.

In 1950, Antigua and Barbuda was the least populous country in North America. Now Saint Kitts and Nevis will remain the least populous country until 2100.
