List of European countries by GDP

Germany is the largest economy in Europe, followed by the United Kingdom, France, Italy, and Russia. These five together hold a 58.75% share of the European economy. The top ten European economies represent almost 79% share. San Marino is the smallest economy in Europe.

Nine economies in Europe would have a GDP above $1 trillion, and 24 would have an economy above $100 billion. Five European economies are on the list of the top ten largest economies globally, and nineteen economies are within the top 50 world GDP rankings.

The nominal GDP of all 43 European economies would increase in 2025 compared to 2024. With $367 billion, Russia will be the top contributor, followed by Germany ($329 bn) and the United Kingdom ($314 bn). Russia, San Marino, and Andorra are the three decliners. Poland and Croatia will move ahead to Switzerland and Luxembourg, respectively.

In PPP data, the five largest economies of Europe are Russia, Germany, France, the United Kingdom, and Italy. Eight economies would have a GDP above Int. $1 trillion in 2025, and 30 would have an economy above Int. $100 billion. Four European economies are in the top ten list, and seventeen economies are within the top 50 world GDP rankings.

None of the European economies would see a decrease in 2025 compared to 2024. Russia (Int. $212 bn), the United Kingdom (Int. $162 bn), Germany (Int. $158 bn), Spain (Int. $145 bn), and France (Int. $137 bn) would be the top gainers. Ireland and Kosovo will move ahead to Sweden and Iceland, respectively.

Forty economies have higher GDP on a PPP basis, and two have higher on a nominal basis. Belarus has the highest PPP-to-nominal ratio of 3.611, while Iceland has the lowest figure of 0.820.
